Marinite... I know! LOL ;-D That one made me laugh out loud!!!

Maybe the person searching for that and reading here could clue us in on what exactly they were hoping to find?

maybe builders are giving ass lifts as incentives to buy houses? That would probably fly here in Marin what with all the vain people...

nyc.gov

That's because in his budget last year and this year, Mayor Mike (Bloomberg) has been saying "let's be smart and start thinking about a rainy day."

In other words, he sees the possibility of a crumbling real estate driven economy.

Has any other mayor (or elected politician) in America, before the last month, said anything like that?

Certainly not one in California.

We specialize in not dealing with reality out here.

I liked resolution trust searching for the trends in Sonoma Real Estate. ;-) I hope they found their answer. Loan resets, short sales and loan owner defaults are now the trend. Come late this year I expect them to be more than a trend. They will be all the rage. The war cry will no longer be "buy now or be priced out forever."

It will be "default now, or be owned by your loan forever."

I said above:

"We specialize in not dealing with reality out here."

But perhaps cognitive dissonance is no longer as fashionable:

"The poll found that half of all adults and nearly as many likely voters now believe bad economic times are ahead for California in the next year, up from 39 percent just two months ago. The overall direction of the state is also a growing concern, with 47 percent of Californians now convinced the state is moving in the wrong direction, up from 37 percent in January.

Among likely voters, only 30 percent now trust state government to do the right thing at least most of the time, a number that slips to 24 percent when the federal government is involved.

The loss of confidence "is a big change in a couple of months,'' said Mark Baldassare, president and pollster for the policy institute. "It reflects anxiety about the stock market, the slowdown in the housing market, rising gas prices and concerns about possibility of home foreclosures due to subprime loans.

'All of a sudden, there are a lot more things for people to worry about.'"

Many see bleak future for state, poll shows

Confidence ebbs in politicians' ability to handle problems

So if people believe that California as a state is moving in the wrong direction... what direction is that?

What is it that is wrong?

What is the right direction?

California as problems? other than a gerrymandered and totally unresponsive state government, crumbling infrastructure...a population concentrated in areas that require enormous imports of water from a rapidly diminishing snowpack,a greater percentage of its population incarcerated than any other state or nation in history,an increasingly marginalized middle class, and a huge underclass...nah,no biggee.think i'll start another rumor about the rabid quail in sonoma county, give folks something to worry about.
